CBU will honor Steve Dunavant as its 2015 Distinguished Alumnus and Brother Dylan Perry as the Distinguished Young Alumnus at its 4th Annual Bell Tower Gala on November 14.
Steve Dunavant (’83) has more than 30 years of public accounting experience, and currently serves as a managing director for the Memphis office of CBIZ MHM, LLC. Steve was one of the founding members of its predecessor firm, Thompson Dunavant PLC. He graduated from CBU with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of Tennessee in 1985. In 1997, he received a Certificate of Education Achievement from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Tax Planning & Advising for Closely Held Businesses. Dunavant currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Christian Brothers University (as Vice Chairman) and the Americana Music Society. He is a past Chairman of the Board for the Visible Music College and a former board member of Triumph Bank.
Brother Dylan Perry (’10) is the associate director of the Lasallian Volunteers for the De La Salle Christian Brothers. He has served in this role since 2013 and is responsible for the well-being and formation of nearly 50 LVs each year who serve in Catholic schools and social service institutions around the country. He earned his bachelor’s degree at CBU in Religion and Philosophy with minors in Peace Studies and Global Studies. While at CBU he served as a Senator for Student Government, helped start the Community Garden on campus, and interned with GrowMemphis at the Mid-South Peace and Justice Center. After graduation from CBU, he served as a Lasallian Vounteer for a year at West Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Perry was accepted into postulancy as a Christian Brother in July of this year.
