Rice Bowl Project

ricebowlPeer Ministers and Campus Ministry are teaming up to raise money for Catholic Relief Services via the Rice Bowl project. Each student organization will be given a couple of Rice Bowls to fill with change throughout the Lenten Season. Collection of the money each week will be Friday night. The organization with the most money raised each week will be announced in the weekly edition of the Connection as well as on the TVs in the Alfonso Dining Hall and the Buc and social media sites. If your organization would like to be involved, contact Matt Winemiller at mwinemil@cbu.edu or Lauren Harrett at lharrett@cbu.edu. Rice Bowls can be picked up from Matt Winemiller or from Brother Tom Sullivan in Campus Ministry.

What is Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl? Forty years ago, Catholics in the United States wanted to respond to the famine in Africa. Could we feed the hungry through Lenten prayers, fasting, and almsgiving? The answer was YES — and it came in the form of a small cardboard box. Forty years later, it still does. And now there’s an app for that too! Check out the CRS Rice Bowl App to get more involved: Android» Apple»
