leafSUSTAINABILITY MEETING: The Student Sustainability Coalition is having an interest meeting Tuesday, January 20 at 12:30 p.m. in the LLC. Discussion topics will include GrowMemphis Garden Workshop dates, Garden Work Day, Botanic Gardens field trip, Lichterman Nature Center field trip, and possible events like a River Clean-up and a Garden Harvest and Cooking Workshop at Sean MacInnes’ house behind the baseball apartments! This semester is going to be very fun and very green!

greek-theater-masksTHEATRE AUDITIONS: The Theatre Department will be holding open auditions on Wednesday, January 21 at 5:00 p.m. in the University Theater. Come prepared to do cold readings from the script. Several plays are under consideration at this time, including Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story and a one-act by Susan-Lori Parks. The directors for these productions will be Matthew Hamner and Kristian Sean O’Hare. For more information, contact Matthew Hamner at mhamner@cbu.edu or (901) 321-3026.

ACADEMIC IMPROVEMENT WORKSHOPS: During January and February, four workshop sessions will be offered to help students toward a more successful college experience in areas of basic study skills techniques, helpful resources, self-assessment, self-motivation, etc. The sessions will be held on Thursdays at 1:00-1:50 p.m. as follows:  January 22, January 29, February 5, and February 12 in the LLC Classroom (Room 104) and will be facilitated by Ms. Sadie Lisenby, Director of Counseling. The sessions are designed for students who have the desire and commitment to become a more successful student.  Interested students are urged to attend all four sessions.
