Head_Coach_Clint_BrowneClint Browne (Men’s Soccer) has been named South Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Browne led the Bucs to a 14-3-1 record this season, including an 8-1 record and a first-place finish in Gulf South Conference play. The Bucs earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA South Regional, marking the first time they have hosted an NCAA men’s soccer regional. Browne, also the GSC Coach of the Year, won the NSCAA South Region Coach of the Year award in 2011 also.

Jose Ferraz (Civil Engineering ’15) was named to the All-South Region First Team by the NSCAA. Ferraz, a forward, scored 13 goals with two assists for 28 points for the Bucs, recording six game-winners as he led CBU to a 14-3-1 record and the NCAA South Regional.

Buccaneer guard Jeff Larkin (Business Administration ’18) won GSC Freshman of the Week after the Bucs went 2-0 to start league play during the first week of December. Larkin averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He scored 15 points in the win against Lee University, following with six points and four rebounds at Shorter University.

The International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) recognized Dr. Pong Malasri (Dean of Engineering) in its December 2014 issue of ista views as one of the two new members of an exclusive list of 28 packaging lab professionals worldwide who have earned CPLP Professional status, the highest level of CPLP Certification. Sean Rutter (Business Administration ’15) was named to the All-South Region First Team by the NSCAA. Rutter scored one goal with two assists for four points as he started 16 games at defender. The Bucs allowed just 13 goals in 18 games, recording eight shutouts on the season with a team goals-against average of just 0.70.

Sidy Sall (Business Administration ’15) was named GSC Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals in the Bucs’ wins during the first week of December. He scored 22 with eight rebounds in a 73-70 win at Lee University and he followed with 21 points, 16 rebounds and five assists in a 74-61 win at Shorter University. For the season, Sall is averaging 15.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
