ganmestandsWHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL: When the Game Stands Tall will be the showing on  Friday, November 14 in the University Theater, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Come out and watch a great movie! Here is a summary of what you are in for: Inspired by a true story, When the Game Stands Tall brings to life the incredible winning streak of the De La Salle High School football team: 151 straight victories over 12 years. All along the way, as Coach Bob Ladouceur builds his seemingly invincible national powerhouse, he has emphasized purpose and significance rather than streaks and titles. But when real-life adversity leaves the team reeling, the Spartans must decide if the sacrifice, commitment, and teamwork they have always trusted in can rebuild what is now disintegrating around them. Sponsored by the the Lasallian Collegians.

SALSA Y BACHATA: Come join Hola CBU for a night of salsa and bachata classes, taught by Rumba Room teachers on Friday, November 14 in Alfonso Dining Hall, 8:00 p.m. until midnight. Price is $5 for early birds, available on sale in the Alfonso Foyer during lunch — $7 at the door.

BELL TOWER GALA: CBU’s third annual Bell Tower Gala will be held on November 15 in the Tennessee Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Memphis at 6:00 p.m. This year CBU will be awarding  Maurelian Medal to Bishop J. Terry Steib (above left) and honoring Michael Pohlman (’79, above center) and Analice Sowell (’02, ’05, above right) with the Distinguished Alumnus and Distinguished Young Alumna awards. This unforgettable evening will be a festive charitable event, a tribute to the history of Lasallian education in Memphis, and a great way to reconnect with old friends. And since all proceeds support CBU’s exceptional academic programs and scholarships, it’s a great way to invest in the future of our students and our community. Individual tickets to this event are $175. To purchase your ticket and reserve your spot today, contact Karen Viotti at kviotti@cbu.edu or (901) 321-3254.
