CBU in the Media

CBU’s College of Adult Professional Studies was the subject of an article in the October 18 edition of The Commercial Appeal, entitled “CBU’s online learning is hybrid of 2 worlds.” The article, which quotes Toni Ross (Dean of CAPS) and Bevalee Vitali (Management/Marketing/Economics), deals with how CBU is phasing online learning into its adult evening programs by offering 40-60 split between face to face and online learning for each class. The article deals with the economic impact of colleges and universities in Memphis. Quoting Wendy Sumner-Winter (Advancement), it states that CBU’s calculated economic impact on the city is $18 million annually. The article also notes that 80 percent of CBU graduates stay in Memphis and contribute to the economy, and that September of Service donates volunteer work-hours.  (For those without a digital subscription to The Commercial Appeal, please click here for the article in PDF format.)
