• BOWLING FOR UGANDA: Beta Beta Beta, CBU’s Biology Honor Society, presents the annual Bowling for Uganda benefit bowling tournament on Friday, November 15 at Billy Hardwick’s Lanes (1576 S. White Station Road) at 6:00 p.m. Teams will consist of 4-5 people. $20 per person (or $15 with 2 sponsorships) – sponsorship forms and team packets are available in Dr. Mary Ogilvie’s office (Cooper-Wilson 113). All teams get pizza and drinks! All proceeds go to the benefit of Hope North Uganda, an accredited secondary school located on a 40-acre campus with an international arts center, vocational training, and a working farm, designed to educate and heal the young victims of Uganda’s civil war.

Please note that the first 40 students registering for this event will be emailed confirmation of their acceptance and will still need to deposit $5 (cash only) with the Office of Intramural, Recreation, and Community Participation (in Student Life) to secure their ticket by Wednesday, November 13. • WES MOORE AT CBU: The CBU Fresh Reads program, in partnership with the Commercial Appeal and Facing History and Ourselves and through a sponsorship by International Paper, will host Wes Moore in the University Theater on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. Moore is the author of this year’s Fresh Reads selection, The Other Wes Moore, which tells the true story of two kids with same name, living in similar family situations in similar rough neighborhoods. One grew up to be a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran, White House Fellow, and business leader. The other is serving a life sentence in prison for felony murder. More info>>>
