Customizing Your Canvas Dashboard, Viewing Your Courses

The Dashboard is your landing page in Canvas.  By default, your Dashboard will list all of your current courses (up to 20) and provide a ‘To Do’ and ‘Coming Up’ list from these courses.  Current courses include your production courses for the current term, any sandbox course you requested or received at an OLET training, or any current training course you are participating in.

Since the max number of courses to be included in your Dashboard is twenty, you may find that it takes a moment to find the course you need.  You may also find that your Dashboard includes course shells that you are not using or sandbox/training course shells that you are not using frequently.  Luckily, there is a means to choose what courses are available in the Dashboard and make it more convenient and efficient to use.  This procedure is included below.

The ‘Courses’ Tab, ‘All Courses’ and Favorited/Starred Courses

By clicking the ‘Courses’ tab, you will be presented with a list of the same courses shown in your Dashboard.  Below this list, there is a link to access ‘All Courses.’  This link is used to find your concluded and migrated courses.

The ‘All Courses’ page will provide a list of all course shells you are associated with in Canvas.  Information regarding your role and if the course is published is also provided. See ‘All Courses’ below:
