Canvas is CBU’s Learning Management System (LMS) for all courses. Although using a strictly online delivery modality is NOT a requirement here at CBU, we want to let you know it is an option for you. In addition, if you would like to learn more about online course delivery or about how to use a hybrid delivery modality (i.e., part online, part traditional classroom delivery modality) the whole OLET team is here to support you.
CANVAS COURSE SET-UP
You will have a Canvas Production Course Shell automatically waiting for you inside Canvas EACH semester so you might as well use it! Canvas takes the administrative burdens out of teaching and grading so you can focus on creating and sustaining strong teaching, cognitive, and social presences in your traditional, hybrid, or virtual classrooms.

SELF-PACED LEARNING ABOUT CANVAS
If you would like to get a jump on learning about Canvas, here are several resources to look at on your own. You will need to have your CBU email set up first to get into Canvas (item 1), but items 2, 3, and 4 below do NOT require logging into Canvas to explore these resources. Also, note, as a CBU instructor (and the same goes for your students) you and they have access to a 24/7 Canvas Support Hotline: 901.318.3024.
- Inside Canvas, there are many helpful guides. Login to Canvas. On the Global Navigation Menu, click Help. Search the Canvas Guides. You’ll find the most helpful to be the Instructor Guide, Practice Guides, or Video Guides.
